Day Trip

I went on a little day trip today, to the Peak District with my friend Kath. It was a lovely sunny day, although very very cold, so we drove to Bakewell, a little market town, famous for the bakewell tart! There was a cattle market on, so it was really busy. We had a wander around the market, had lunch in the pub, then went to feed the ducks, which were surrounded by photographers for some unknown reason, they obviously all had the same idea as me....

On the way home, we stopped in Buxton, which is a spa town, to walk through the Pavilion Gardens. I used to go here all the time when I was little with my brother and sisters, to play in the playground and have a Kitkat in the cafe, so it’s always nice to go back. We walked up to the Opera House, which is an absolutely stunning building, and we also stopped to have a look in the beautiful Botanical Gardens.
