Conquering Liverpool

I wanted to go to see the Glam exhibition at the Tate, so my friends put their lives in my hands and I drove us to Liverpool.  After all that, it wasn't actually as good as I'd hoped but it was still worth going to see. I couldn't take photos but there was some really interesting pieces amongst arguably a load of rubbish and some boardline pornography. We wandered around the docks whilst we were there, and watched the the Yellow Duckmarine, which drives around the city then drives straight into the docks and magically turns into a boat... Kath also wanted to see the Roman Catholic Cathedral- after a lot of aimless wandering we eventually found it. It is an amazing building; it's circular with all the pews facing the centre, and has loads of stained glass windows. On route we also saw the Church of St Lukes, which was bombed during the war but that makes it even more beautiful. It's now used for arts and film events and is surrounded by public gardens, and it was a a surreal oasis of calm in the middle of the city.  There was a small dodgy moment when we couldn't find the carpark but other than that, we had a very successful day :)
