Coffee Kisses

This is one of my grans recipes- I'm not really too sure what they are, they'll kind of a cross between a biscuit and a cake but aren't a macaroon- they might be like a whoopie pie?  Who knows...But they are super quick and easy and always remind me of her :)
Ingredients
75g butter
150g self raising flour
50g caster sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. coffee essence
For the icing- 250 g icing sugar
                      100g butter
                      1 tbsp. cocoa
Rub the butter into the flour to make crumbs, then stir in the sugar. Mix the egg and coffee essence together and stir into the dry ingredients.  (You might need a splash of milk.) Roll the mixture into balls and bake at 180 degrees for 10 minutes. Mix together the ingredients for the icing and when the biscuits are cook, sandwich two together with the icing.
