Although I'm still at home, I am so prepared for the day I move out. I have pots and pans, towels, even a microwave all stored away, ready and waiting to be used. My excuse is there is less to worry about and fork out for when I get my own place, but in truth I just want my own little home before I have my own little house.
Over the years, I have accumulated so many bits and bobs, knick knacks and trinkets, but I also hate clutter so after a while old things get replaced by new stuff. This is my room at the moment, full of all the things I love.
This birdcage was bought from a garden centre we sill go to a lot as a family, as it is near my grans old house. I had no idea what to do with it until a friend suggested I hang my earrings from it. The same friends also bought the cake stand which I use to store my nail varnish bottles.
The dressing gown on the back of the door is from my gran although it ended up in our dressing up box when we were little for a long time until I rescued it...The postcards are illustrations of London, Paris and New York from Paperchase and the little charm on the door latch is from my trip to Japan and is supposed to bring happiness :)

I got these stars, from work. Kerry used to work on the visual merchandising team at the Liverpool store, and these Christmas decorations were being given away in the New Year, so she bagged one for me.
My chair is a labour of love. I got a craft book for Christmas a few years ago and loved this idea. So I bought a chair and lots of gardening catalogues then covered it with pictures of flowers :) The pictures is just photos of clouds arranged in a silver frame, think I got the idea was from Elle Decoration.
Finally my fan. I bought this in a flea market in New York then had to carry it around Washington when our plane was delayed n the way home and all we had was our hand luggage. There is also a little green bottle, from the same flea market, a jam jar of makeup brushes, an empty Turkish Delight box from my dad full of rings and earrings, and a glass bell jar with some other little bits in. Not your average trinkets but I love them all the same.
