More Botched Bodies

So today, a little rant.. this is the newest image which has caused uproar, and rightly so- another example of terrible photoshopping, and another example of unrealistic body image.
For me personally, the constant stream of these images are so ridiculous it's starting to be funny but I think it's worrying that this isn't the case for everyone.
The clothing brand Ann Taylor Loft had this displayed on their website, with the model's waist clearly out of proportion compared to her hips. I find it amazing that no one who worked at the company realised this mistake, especially after the Target fiasco with the thigh gap/ crotch gap. Fair enough if they want to modify the photos of their models but why can't they employ staff who can competently use the program?

More importantly, they are making tiny waists and thigh gaps seem the norm, appear to be desirable, when it is just not healthy. Not long ago La Perla displayed models with protruding ribs. I honestly think that no one would really notice or care if a model's thighs touched- these are the normal lumps and bumps which everyone has but apparently these brands seem so desperate to remove.  Surely people should be looking at the clothes, not the body? These brands must be over-compensating- they should be putting more effort into their products and not the person wearing them.
